About us
Belper Players was founded in 1936 and has from that time strived to bring interesting and entertaining theatre to our audiences.
We are very proud of our long history and intend to mark our 75th anniversary this year in style with several events and a large scale production.
A group that has been around for as many years as we have has only survived by constantly changing and evolving.
We aim to perform at least three main productions each year as well as other smaller pieces that support the local community.
Belper Players is a registered charity and we operate on a volunteer basis. We have a President, Chair, treasurer
and Secretary as officers and up to 5 other members on our committee that is elected at our AGM each September.
We currently meet every Monday at the Strutt Centre, Derby Road, Belper and on Thursdays at the Lion Hotel,
Bridge street, Belper. Both evenings start at 7-30pm. We are a very friendly group of people and we are always looking for new members
to help either on stage, back stage or front of house. If you would like to know more please message us via the ‘contact’ page on this website.
